Ways to add the human element in product photography

The human element is often added in photos to help us connect to an image, relate to it, envision ourselves being there or using the product, and sometimes to help provide a sense of size.

Adding a human element doesn't necessarily mean a human needs to be present in the photo. The evidence that a human was there can sometimes be enough. Here are a few ideas for ways to add the human element to your photos:

  • Actual hand in the shot

  • Hand writing

  • Food or beverages

  • Half-eaten food

  • Person blurred in the background

Those are just a few ways to add in that human element to your photos.
